Worship
Each Lord’s Day, two worship services are held in every local church—typically in the morning and afternoon. These services follow a liturgy rooted in biblical principles and practices.
The worship begins with a blessing and greeting taken directly from Scripture. Congregational singing includes Psalms and other Scripture-based hymns. Prayers express praise, confession, thanksgiving, and intercession for God’s help and guidance.
At the heart of worship is the reading and preaching of God’s Word. Offerings are collected to support the work of deacons or other kingdom causes. Each service concludes with a benediction from Scripture.
In one of the two services—often in the afternoon—the preaching is guided by the Heidelberg Catechism, with sermons based on the Lord’s Day teaching and its Scriptural foundation.
Sacraments
The sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are regularly administered during worship.
Infant baptism is conducted in the presence of the congregation, usually at the request of Christian parents. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated every two or three months, with its frequency and form determined by the local church council.
